For generations, men have been conditioned to compete rather than connect, to conceal rather than reveal. We've inherited a culture of emotional distance, comparative measurement, and isolation. The result? A crisis of disconnection where men are struggling alone with challenges that are often better addressed when shared.
The Awakening
A profound shift is occurring. Worldwide, men are gathering in circles, creating spaces for authentic connection and personal growth. These groups offer something essential: the mirror of other men's experiences, the wisdom of shared journey, and the power of collective healing.
Yet at the same time, we face an epidemic of loneliness. Men's mental health crises and suicide rates are spiralling. The need for genuine connection and transformation has never been more urgent.
Beyond Good Intentions
While the hunger for men's work is growing, many groups struggle to create lasting change. Without skilled facilitation: groups often stay in shallow waters, leaders burn out, and promising circles lose momentum and impact over time.
The Ripple Effect
When men heal, they heal their families, their communities, and future generations. Each skilled facilitator becomes a catalyst for transformation — creating ripples that extend far beyond the group itself.
This is why the Facilitation Dojo matters. It's about equipping men with the tools, understanding, and presence to guide other men from isolation to connection, from surface-level sharing to profound breakthrough.
For countless generations men have been led to assume that the game to play is survival of the fittest — individualism, pecking orders, hiding shame, emotional distance, comparative measurement. Within such a constricting paradigm men can feel frozen in a low vibrational mode of caution, detached from their latent potential, and essentially alone.
Since the early 1990s, a pivotal movement has been stirring. Men have begun to gather in circles and develop conscious practices that challenge cultural assumptions and emotional restrictions. Worldwide, men's groups are springing up, offering valuable spaces and experiences for the men attending.
What Do Men Need Now?
Men don't need more experts dictating their opinions. Rather, we need containers to heal the restrictions and falsehoods we have inherited — to break free of constraining patriarchal influences, access what resonates as true for ourselves, and grow into men willing and able to support each other.
At the same time, there is an increasingly powerful temptation to "numb out." Men's mental health crises and suicide rates are spiralling, and younger men are increasingly pacified by technology. The imperative for healing and connection is more pressing than ever.
The Facilitation Dojo aims to raise the bar of competence and confidence for men wanting to facilitate and support each other — providing simple but powerful tools that can be easily learned, practised, and passed on.
Do I need previous facilitation experience?
No. The only prerequisite is a commitment to your own growth and a desire to support other men. Many participants come with some experience leading men's groups, but it's not required.
Do I need to be part of MKP or another men's organisation?
No. The Facilitation Dojo welcomes men from all backgrounds and traditions — whether you're part of an established men's organisation or just beginning your journey in men's work.
What's included in the investment?
The course fee includes: a pre-training Zoom check-in, all training and materials, single room accommodation, all meals and refreshments, and a 20-page illustrated practice handbook.
What should I bring?
You'll be sent a detailed list after registration, but essentials include: appropriate clothing for indoor and outdoor work, a notebook and pen, personal items for an overnight stay, and an open mind and willing heart.
How is this different from GUTS facilitation training?
GUTS focuses on facilitating specific processes for training events. The Facilitation Dojo teaches core facilitation principles applicable in any context — weekly men's groups, workshops, or any setting where men gather for growth. We focus on the "how" of facilitation, not just the "what."
